Free Lawn and Landscape Seminars to be Held at Area Libraries | Events

The Chesterfield County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is presenting a series of lawn and landscape seminars at local libraries beginning March 1 and continuing through April 12. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Call 804-751-4401 to make reservations.

Xeriscaping/Water thrifty plants — Maintain attractive and healthy landscape by choosing plants and modifying the soil to maximize the efficiency of water in your landscape.

March 8          Clover Hill, 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m.

 Gardening with Natives — Welcome birds, butterflies and bees into your yard, and provide natural beauty by incorporating native plants into existing landscapes. Learn the role that native plants can play in your garden and why some plants are considered alien or invasive.

Pollinators: Life Without Chocolate? — Life without chocolate, apple pie or pizza? Find out how pollinators impact your life. Learn who they are, what their needs are and some simple ways you can help attract and protect them in your own yard.
