Coldwater Creek Sponsors Richmond Animal League | Business

People who want receive a discount on clothes while donating to a local charity can do just this at Coldwater Creek in Chesterfield Towne Center.

Coldwater Creek is sponsoring Richmond Animal League (RAL) from April until the end of June as a way to give back to the community.  Shoppers can donate $10 for the cause and in return, Coldwater Creek presents the donor with a coupon for $25 off a $50 purchase.

“We had a couple ladies here on staff who were really passionate about Richmond Animal League and they came to me with the idea that we could give these coupons out for $10 donations to Richmond Animal League for three months, so we jumped right on it,” said Nance Hodges, manager at Coldwater Creek.

Once the Chesterfield store got corporate approval, it began advertising the donation opportunity with flyers, advertisements on the Chesterfield Towne Center website, the concierge desk at the mall and the RAL website.  According to Hodges, it has been successful.

“We’ve had a lot of ladies very excited coming in with their printed receipts asking to donate here in the store,” said Hodges. 

A promotion like this one is beneficial to Richmond Animal League, since the organization receives no government funding and relies on the generosity of its community.

“Coldwater Creek has created something that benefits the donor and the shelter,” said Amy McCracken, executive director of RAL.  “We are grateful when local businesses host creative fundraisers such as this one.”

The donation opportunity applies only to the Chesterfield Towne Center location.
